Last Monday night, the Nuggets flew into Los Angeles ready to make a statement. They were ready to prove that what they were doing at home was working and that they were ready to prove that on the road. Once again, the Nuggets are returning to the City of Angels to face the Clippers on their home court.
During our last visit to LA, we were just coming off of playing three home games and the Clippers game were our fourth game in five nights, so it was expected that the boys were tired. That wasn’t the only thing that kept the Nuggets from being in the game last Monday. It was obvious within the first few minutes in the game that the Nuggets had a fear of Deandre Jordan in the paint when it came to the big man blocking shots; Jordan controlled the paint all night long. As said in last Monday’s post game, it set the tone for the entire rest of the game.
The Nuggets are now coming off of a two game losing streak but will have a chance to redeem themselves tonight. The Clippers are operating without Blake Griffin, who underwent a minor procedure last week and is expected to miss 3-6 weeks. Chris Paul is currently questionable after a left hamstring strain during Thursday’s game against the Spurs. Paul did not play yesterday against the Lakers due to this injury.
Keys to a Nuggets Victory:
- DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE
- Smart defense
- Strong offense
- Attack the paint
- Shoot smart when shooting perimeter shots
Nuggets: No known injuries
Clippers: Chris Paul—hamstring. (Q)
Blake Griffin (right knee)
What are your thoughts on tonight’s game? In your opinion, what do you think that the Nuggets need to do to win?
Tune in and support our Denver Nuggets at 8:30 PM MT.
