Well, they’ve done it again! For the second game in a row, the Nuggets were able to hold an opponent under 120 points.
Nikola Jokic led all scorers tonight with a career-high 30 points. Emmanuel Mudiay added a career-best 13 assists. With the exception of Gary Harris, who left early in the first quarter due to an ankle injury, all starters scored in the double digits to outscore the Magic’s starters 83-67. Kenneth Faried also found himself in tonight’s starting lineup with Darrell Arthur out with knee soreness.
From the get go, the Nuggets showed signs of a fight when they outscored the Magic 39-36 in the first. In the second, the Nuggets, one again, were able to outscore the Magic 30-25, leaving the score at the half 69-61. In the third, the Nuggets continued to outscore the 31-22. The fourth quarter, Orlando attempted to find some magic as they outscored the Nuggets 29-25. Ultimately, the Nuggets were able to leave with a smile on their faces after taking a win over the Magic 125-112.
The Nuggets were shooting 58.4% from the field and 33.3% from downtown. They were also able to shoot 80% from the line– oh, and don’t forget to throw in their 39 rebounds, 33 assists, 11 steals, and 2 blocks. The Magic, who didn’t look as magical tonight, shot 50.6% from the field, 32% from three-point land, and 77.8% from the line. Orlando also had 35 rebounds, 28 assists, 6 steals, and 1 block and were led by Elfrid Payton who had 20 points in 29 minutes.

As of right now, the season series against the Magic sits at 2-0 with the Nuggets leading the way. The Nuggets are currently at a record of 16-23 and are not going to give up on their attempt to make it to the playoffs, especially with them sitting right behind Portland for the eighth seed.
Tonight, the Nuggets will fly to Los Angeles where they’ll face the Lakers in the Staples Center tomorrow night.
