Utah Jazz @ Denver Nuggets
Emmanuel Mudiay(QUESTIONABLE)-DK:$4500 FD:$4700
Jamal Murray: DK:$3900 FD:$3700
Mudiay is questionable for tonight’s game, and even if he does play his matchup is very difficult. The Jazz boast one of the best defensive units in the league, led at PG by George Hill. When Hill is on the court the Jazz are a whole new team as they are 17-5 when he plays. Last time these two teams played Hill was out with one of his many injuries he’s dealt with this season. Even with him being out many times this season they still as a team are a top 5 team vs the PG position, giving up an average of 41 points per game(FD) and 49.8(DF) points per game. Mudiay, coming off an injury, seems like a player that you shouldn’t use tonight. For Jamal Murray he may be another punt play tonight at PG if Mudiay can’t play. With Harris back and Jameer sadly serving as the primary back up, expect Murray’s minutes to be limited.
Gary Harris-DK$4700: FD:$5000
Will Barton– DK:$5900 FD:$5200
If only Gary Harris could stay consistently healthy for this Nuggets team, they are a great looking team when he’s on the court. Last game he returned and led the team with 22 points and had himself one hell of a DFS night. His price is so low that it is very tempting to once again slot him in your lineup. The only thing preventing me from just putting him in my lineup and forgetting about him is the fact the Jazz are the best team vs the SG position in the league. Lengthy 6 foot 7 guard Rodney Hood is tasked night in and night out to stop the opposing team’s guards, and very few are better at it then he is. As for Will Barton, his play seems to drop off every time he and Harris are playing together. I would probably fade on Barton tonight until he shows he can play successfully with Harris. Harris may be worth the risk as his perimeter shooting could vault him to a successful DFS night.
Wilson Chandler– DK:$5600 FD:$5400
Danilo Gallinari– DK:$5400 FD:$5600
Same old same old for the two forwards for the Denver Nuggets, both Chandler and Gallinari have been playing some good basketball and it’s showing on DFS. It has been a long time since the two haven’t scored in the 20’s for DFS. Surprisingly though their price remains affordable compared to other SF’s on the sites. Tonight however they are presented one of the hardest challenges in the Association, Gordon Hayward. The Jazz as a team, led by Hayward vs SF’s, are the best team at limiting opposing SF’s to 41(DK) and 32(FD) DFS points per game. Last time these two played each other Chandler and Gallo actually both had good games, seeing Chandler go for 30+ DFS points and Gallo added around 23 DFS points. Gallo and Chandler are interesting tonight but their matchup may scare most off of them.
Kenneth Faried– DK:$4800 FD:$5000
Just when you think Faried is starting to turn it around and provide solid minutes for the Nuggets, Coach Malone limits him to 14 minutes. I’m willing to let it slide because a potential Karl-Anthony Towns vs Kenneth Faried matchup would have been disastrous for the Nuggets. Tonight I think his minutes increase with a matchup vs Derrick Favors looming. Favors, who missed a ton of time earlier this year, is starting to gain more minutes and get back to old Derrick Favors. I like Kenneth tonight, especially at his underpriced price. Same as always with Faried, he will out work his opposition on the glass and get some very high percentage looks. Making me like him tonight, here is to hoping we don’t get Maloned and he gets no minutes.
Nikola Jokić– DK-$8600 FD:-$9800
This matchup is the one matchup in this game that scares me the most. Rudy Gobert is one of the best rim protectors in the game and has really come on this year. The 24 year old Frenchman, originally drafted by the Nuggets, is averaging a crazy 2.5 blocks per game. To go with that he is snagging rebounds a great pace, 12.6 per game. Not surprisingly this means that the Jazz are a top 5 team vs opposing centers. Jokic didn’t play last time the Jazz and Nuggets met so we don’t have a lot to go off, but this doesn’t seem like the game where Jokic goes for 45 to 50+ points he needs to reach value. While Jokic has the ability to go up and dominate any center in the league, he may be too expensive to take that risk tonight. The Stifle Tower aka Rudy Gobert has proven to be a problem vs the Nuggets and he may be a Jokic tonight.
