Tonight, the Nuggets will be hosting the Utah Jazz. The last time that the Jazz visited us in the Pepsi Center, the Nuggets started off the season series 1-0 with a 105-91 win. The last two times that we visited the Jazz on their home court, they got the W. Now, the Nuggets are looking to even things out in the final game of the season series.
The Nuggets struggled with their defense on Sunday evening when the Timberwolves came back in the final minutes of the game to win after the Nuggets had a 9 point lead during the fourth quarter. Tonight, we have to come in ready to play some serious defense, especially because the Jazz are first in the league in points against.
If Emmanuel Mudiay doesn’t play tonight, I’m expecting to see Jamal Murray getting quite a bit of his minutes, just as he did on Sunday night. I’m also looking forward to seeing the Nuggets not make nearly as many turnovers as they did on Sunday.
“We just turned the ball over too consistently. There wasn’t a stretch when we didn’t turn it over. Our offense kept us in the game, but it should be the other way around; our defense should keep us in the game.” -Jamal Murray following Sunday’s game
The Jazz are currently sitting at the 5th seed in the Western Conference while the Nuggets are just barely holding on to the 8th spot, just .5 of a game ahead of Portland. The Nuggets need to continue to fight to hold on to this eighth seed so that they can make the Playoffs for the first time in three years.
