After having quite the game on Wednesday night, the Nuggets had a day to rest yesterday before jumping back into things tonight when the and the Milwaukee Bucks visit the Mile High City.
With 2 of our starters as questionable and one being out, the Nuggets will have to find somebody to step up. Nikola Jokic has been sidelined for three straight games with a hip flexor strain. In his absence, his teammates have stepped up but have come up short as they’ve lost their last two games in a row.
Right now, the Nuggets are pretty banged up and look like they could be without three key players, including our leading scorer Danilo Gallinari out tonight, who left Wednesday night’s game against the Grizzlies in the third quarter with a groin injury.
Danilo underwent an MRI yesterday morning and came back with the results of a first degree groin strain. According to a post made to his Facebook account, there is “no firm date for his return, but we are very optimistic.” Will Barton also underwent an MRI but results for his or Gallo’s MRI have not yet been announced by the Nuggets organization themselves.
With Danilo Gallinari now out, the Nuggets will look to Wilson Chandler to step in and fill that void. This may be a blessing in disguise for Ill Wil, as it has been rumored that Wilson wants to be traded from Denver due to his unhappiness in his role coming off of the bench. Regardless of rumors, I’m fully expecting Wilson to be starting tonight in Danilo’s place.
In our first of two meetings this season, the Nuggets now have a chance to redeem themselves after their past two games against the struggling Bucks, who have won just one of their last ten games.
The Nuggets are 12-12 in the Pepsi Center and the Bucks are 8-15 on the road. Both teams have a record of 21-27 on the season.

Keys to the game, courtesy of @SeanMEnglish:
- This goes without saying. Keep the Greek Freak in check to give yourself a chance.
- With Gallinari out, Wilson Chandler must step up. (It’ll be interesting to see his demeanor with news surfacing that he wants out of Denver.)
- Milwaukee is 5th in the NBA, getting 58.9% of their points from two pointers. Although this is a high percentage, it’s okay let them settle. Do not get beat by sending them to the line frequently or by an aerial attack from downtown.
Will Barton (ankle) questionable
Nikola Jokic (hip) questionable
Emmanuel Mudiay (back) questionable
Danilo Gallinari (groin) out
No Injured Players
