Denver Nuggets @ Atlanta Hawks
Jameer Nelson- DK:$4400 FD:$4400
Jamal Murray- DK:$4000 FD:$4000
The Nuggets will once again be without Point Guard Emmanuel Mudiay tonight as they take on an Eastern Conference foe in the Atlanta Hawks. Instead of Mudiay, the Nuggets will roll out Jameer Nelson and Jamal Murray at the 1. The Hawks come into the game as one of the worst defensive team vs opposing PG’s allowing 45.7 DFS points per game on Fanduel, which is bottom 5 in the league. For DraftKings they allow 56 points per game which is bottom 10. Jameer has not been playing well, despite seeing some pretty heavy minutes, in his last 4 games, he has failed to eclipse 20 DFS points. His price has dropped because of that which may, in fact, make him a somewhat sneaky play for tonight. As for Jamal Murray, his minutes have consistently been in the mid to upper 20’s which give great chances to give us good value. Murray has gone over 20 DFS points in 6 straight games and he has a good chance of doing it again. Jamal Murray is once again another Nugget sleeper to keep your eyes on.
Gary Harris-DK$4900: FD:$5200
Will Barton- DK:$5800 FD:$5500
Boy did I not see Will Barton’s 31 point explosion coming. Hopefully, this is a turning point for Barton and he is able to get his game back on track and give us the stat stuffing style of play we love. His around 50 point DFS outburst gave him a little boost in price but he has a decent matchup tonight that he could exploit. The Hawks on Fanduel are the 12th worst team vs SG’s allowing 36.3 DFS points per game, on Draftkings they allow 42.2 points per game. Bartons minutes saw a big increase from mid 20’s to high 30’s last time out vs Dallas so he may be seeing more court time in the future. Last time the Hawks played the Nuggets, Barton had a good all-around night where he scored 12 points and added 5 rebound and 5 assists, to go along with a block. With his price still low, he may be a good play tonight. For Gary Harris, He too had a very good night as well vs Dallas where he scored 20 points and snatched 5 rebound. His minutes too saw a big boost to 37 and with Mudiay out again he may see around the same tonight. Both Harris and Barton look like they could provide the DFS world with some good value tonight.
Wilson Chandler– DK:$6600 FD:$6000
Danilo Gallinari remains out with a groin injury which he expects will force him to miss about a week and a half. This means that Wilson Chandler will man the Small Forward position for the next handful of games. His price has dropped to 6,000 but not because of poor play. Against Dallas, he had a double-double where he dropped 14 points, snagged 10 boards, had 4 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. He played a whopping 40 minutes vs Dallas so it is clear who owns the Small Forward for the time being. The Hawks are the 10th worst team vs Small Forwards allowing around 36 points per game while on Draftkings they allow 43.6 points per. Wilson Chandler has a great chance of throwing up good numbers tonight and should be considered strongly tonight.
Kenneth Faried– DK:$4800 FD:$6500
Faried is back tonight after missing one game with a personal issue and returns to face a Hawks team who is one of the better defensive teams vs PF’s. Faried will be bashing heads with Paul Millsap down low all night. The Hawks allow 39.5 points per game on Fanduel which is top 5 in the league, and on Draftkings they allow 45 points per game which is top 10 in the league. The Hawks are the 12th best team in the league when it comes to rebounding while the Nuggets rank number 2. It should be a battle down low all night for faried to grab boards as he not only has to fight Paul Millsap but also has to scrap with Dwight Howard. Faried is coming off a bad last game but will look to bounce back, however, his price is too high and asking for him to go for around 30 to hit value is just too much to ask.
Nikola Jokić– DK-$8700 FD:-$9800
ALERT THE PRESS: Jokic is human. In his last two games, Jokic has failed to live up to his DFS hype. While his price was once in the high $10,000, it has “plummeted” to $9800. That is still just too high for me to slot him in my lineup. For Jokic to hit value he has to reach almost 50 points which is a ton to ask. Throw in the fact that Dwight Howard is still one of the best defensive bigs in the league. The Hawks allow 42 points per game to C’s on Fanduel which is 5th best and on DraftKings allow 45 a game which is top 10. Jokic will have to battle all night long for rebounds and with a stronger Dwight Howard, there is a fear of possible foul trouble. Jokic is just too much money and is up against too good of a defensive team, another night I’ll sit out playing Jokic.
