Denver Nuggets @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Jameer Nelson- DK:$4400 FD:$4400
Jamal Murray- DK:$3800 FD:$4000
For the fourth straight game, the Nuggets will be without Point Guard Emmanuel Mudiay as they are set to play B James and Co. With no Emmanuel Mudiay tonight the Nuggets will once again turn to a mixture of Jameer Nelson and Jamal Murray. Both of these guards are low in price which should intrigue DFS players when making lineups. While the Cavs do have Kyrie Irving, an incredibly gifted scorer, he is not that great of a defender. The Cavs are a bottom 3 team in the league against Point Guards as they allow about 47 points per game and on DraftKings they allow 57 per game which is 4th worst. Jameer Nelson is coming off of an exceptional game vs the Knicks in which he scored 16 points and dished out 12 assists. That double-double is something that DFS players want to see out of him more, while he is starting in place of Mudiay. Over Jameer’s last two games he has had 20 combined assists which is something that we love to see from a Point Guard who is best known for scoring. As for Jamal Murray, he is coming off a game in which he did not do so hot. Not only did his play drop off but his minutes did as well as he only saw the court for 15 minutes. He was barely able to reach 1x value last night and if his minutes continue to drop or stay around the teens as they were last night, he can no longer be thought of as a good sleeper. Tonight may be a night you look elsewhere from Murray for a cheap punt play, as his minutes seem to be up in the air.
Gary Harris-DK$5000: FD:$5100
Will Barton- DK:$6300 FD:$6200
Both Will Barton and Gary Harris have been killing it lately for the Denver Nuggets. Last night vs the Knicks, Barton put up 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, handed out 4 assists and had 2 blocks. Just another game where Barton attacked the glass hard and was able to give us a stat-stuffing night. This is Barton’s third straight game where he has given us more than 35 DFS points and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Tonight he gets to go up against one of the more favorable matchups in the entire league as the Cavs are bottom 5 in points per game on both Draftkings & Fanduel. Barton will most likely be covered by Iman Shumpert or Kyle Korver and should be able to exploit that matchup and give us DFS players a great matchup. For Harris, he too had himself a nice game where in 34 minutes he scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to go along with 4 assists. Harris has been doing it in a more quiet fashion than Will Barton, but the job is getting done and no DFS player will complain about that. For the second straight night, these two seem like guys to slot into your lineup.
Wilson Chandler(PROBABLE)– DK:$7200 FD:$6700
Without Danilo Gallinari again, Wilson Chandler will be asked to step into the starting five where he has produced so much for the Nuggets. Last night against his former team, Wilson Chandler came out and scored 19 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, passed out 3 assists, and had 2 blocks and 2 steals. A great all around game again for “Ill Will”, something he has done for the last handful of games. While many believe that the Cavs are one of the best in the league vs Small Forwards because they have an all-time great defender in B James, that just isn’t the case. The Cavs are bottom 5 in the league in points against by Small Forwards. On Fanduel they allow around 38 points per game which is 5th worst in the league. Similarly, on DraftKings they allow 44 points per game which is 4th worst. This seems like another game where Chandler will be asked to do a lot for the team, which means he should be able to provide us with a solid game. The only thing that is scary is the blowout potential but if the Nuggets keep in competitive, Chandler should be just fine.
Nikola Jokić– DK-$9000 FD:-$9900
I am officially convinced that Nikola Jokic was made in a lab, there is no way that guy is human. The 7-foot Serbian stud has been putting on a show over his last 5 games, averaging 30.0 points on 63.4 percent shooting, 13.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.0 steals. Last night Nikola Jokic bested Kristaps Porzingis in a game that featured two of the most talented big men the league has to offer. He went into to MSG and dropped a cool 40 points, a new career-high, snatched 9 rebounds and had 5 assists. Just an overall fantastic win which was made even sweeter with a road Nuggets win. Tonight he goes up against Tristan Thompson for the Cavs. The Cavs boast a top 5 defense against Centers as they allow just around 44 points on Fanduel a night. On DraftKings the Cavs allow about 47 points per game which is 6th best in the league. While Jokic price did not increase very much, on the second half of a back to back against the Cavs I don’t know if spending up for Jokic is the best idea. He certainly can go off once again but it will not be easy.
