Brooklyn Nets @ Sacramento Kings
Jameer Nelson– DK:$6700 FD:$5600
Jamal Murray– DK:$4000 FD:$3700
Although Jameer Nelson started, which meant Emmanuel Mudiay would come off the bench, it was Jamal Murray who ended up being the first point guard called off the bench. While Murray ended up seeing only 19 minutes, Emmanuel Mudiay was a DNP-CD vs the Kings. This may be just a glimpse of what’s to come to start the back end of the season which means Mudiay’s DFS potential is all but gone. As for Jameer Nelson, last night’s Denver all-star break hangover did not stop him from having yet another great DFS game. He scored 12 points, had 4 rebounds and 6 assists and a whopping 5 steals. This all totaled up meant he scored more than 30 DFS points which is great value for us. Tonight vs the Nets he has a great opportunity to do it again as the Nets rank dead last on both Fanduel and DraftKings against opposing point guards. Jameer should be able to carry over his recent momentum and help the Denver Nuggets get back in the win column. On this extremely large slate of games, Jameer Nelson is a clear cut great play.
Gary Harris-DK$5500: FD:$5200
Will Barton– DK:$7600 FD:$6400
Gary Harris was one of the few bright spots for the Nuggets in last night’s embarrassing loss to the Kings. Gary Harris ended up outshining Will Barton last night as he had 23 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals which ended up turning in great value for those who played him. While we would like to see his assists and rebounds go up in the future, nobody will complain about him pouring in 23 points. This is now two straight games where the former Michigan State Spartan has scored over 20 points, a great sign for things to come. On the other hand, Will Barton is coming off a game in which he scored 16 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. While his scoring was lower than we expect, his minutes remaining in the 30’s showing that Malone has confidence he will figure it out. He ended up turning in around 3 times value which is not what we want out of someone who was an on the pricey side. The Nets defense present a great chance for both guys to either keep it going or bounce back as they are second worst in Fanduel and DraftKings against shooting guards. I expect big things tonight as Denver will come out looking to avenge their loss last night.
Wilson Chandler-DK:$6900 FD:$6600
Danilo Gallinari–DK:$5500 FD:$6900
Danilo Gallinari came out last night and right out of the gate looked like he was poised for a big second half of the year, he ended up slowing down a little but he still finished with a good DFS night. He reached close to the 30 mark on DFS which is not unfamiliar territory for Gallo as he has been one of the most consistent Nuggets all season. He has now scored in the double figures in 26 straight games which is something DFS owners love. When a player is as consistent as Gallo is, he will be a great commodity in DFS. Wilson Chandler did not have himself a bad night either as he finished with around 30 DFS points. While this was the first time he had returned to the bench in the last handful of games, he did not let that slow him down. He has now recorded 2 double-doubles in his last 5 games, posting a stat line of 18 points, 10 rebounds, and an assist. The Nets are once again the worst team in the NBA at defending small forwards so it should be a game where both Gallo and Chandler see a lot of touches. As long as they continue playing as they both have all season, they should be good plays in a lot of the remaining games this season.
Kenneth Faried– DK-$4600 FD:-$6100
Nikola Jokić– DK-$10,800 FD:-$10,900
Mason Plumlee– DK-$5300 FD-$5900
It is not often we see Nikola Jokic held to just 4 points as he was last night, and I don’t think we will see too many for the rest of the season. Jokic was completely held in check by the Kings which took a group effort to do. It was a wildly disappointing night for the Joker as he posted his lowest scoring game since December 23rd. One thing that sticks out more than anything when looking at his stat line is the fact he only played 26 minutes. The lack in minutes could be simply because he did not have it last night but we can’t be sure until we see more games if the real reason is Mason Plumlee. His price of $10,900 stayed the same on Fanduel and actually went up to $10,800 on DraftKings. While he may come out and play like he has something to prove, his price is just too much for me to buy into. As for Mason Plumlee, he saw 22 minutes off the bench last night and he added 10 points and 3 rebounds. His rebounds should go back up this game as the Nets will miss a lot of shots tonight making the opportunity to grab boards go up. His scoring has been consistent as a member of the Nuggets but if it could go up a little more he would be a better option at center for DFS. The return of healthy bodies definitely cost him minutes, as we expected, as it went down from 36 vs the Timberwolves to 22 last night. He remains a little too expensive to be considered a good play at center. Kenneth Faried was once listed as doubtful to play in last night’s game but was upgraded and was able to play last night. His possibly still hurt ankle limited him to just 14 minutes but even in those minutes, he did not produce well. He scored just 2 points and had 3 rebounds which is production we cannot have if we have to pay around 6k. The Nets present a great matchup for Faried as they are the worst team in the league, again, vs power forwards but if his minutes don’t increase that will not mean anything. I would wait and hold off on Faried to see if his minutes go back up or if the arrival of Mason Plumlee will cut those down.
