In the second night of a back to back, the Denver Nuggets pulled through and got their second win in a row after we took the win over the Chicago Bulls. The Nuggets beat the Bucks tonight and swept the regular season series.
For the second night in a row, Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets and all scorers with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. The Rooster also had 1 steal and 1 block in his 34 minutes. Gary Harris put up 14 points, grabbed 3 boards, and dished out 2 assists.
Nikola Jokic, Wilson Chandler, and Will Barton all had 13 points a piece. Chandler also grabbed five rebounds. Barton had 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Last, but not least, The Joker had his fourth triple-double of his career and this season (and his second in a row) with his 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists tonight.
After missing quite a few games due to injury and then having several DNP-CD’s, Emmanuel Mudiay saw 18 minutes on the floor tonight as he came off of the bench as the backup PG for Denver, putting up 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Jamal Murray got the start as PG due to Jameer Nelson’s absence due to illness. It was the Blue Arrow’s third career start, but his first as PG. The other two starts that he had were as a shooting guard.
If you watched the game, you’ll know that the Nuggets easily won the first half. In the first quarter, the Nuggets outscored the Bucks, 32-15. Yes, Denver held the Bucks to just 15 points but wait, it gets better. In the second, the Nuggets, once again, outscored Milwaukee 31-22. At the half, Denver went to the locker room with a 63-37 lead. The second half came around and the Nuggets let their guard down a bit as they were outscored 29-23 in the third and then 32-24 in the fourth.
At one point, the Nuggets had a lead of 31 points. The Bucks kept working them down, but they were never able to get within 12 points. Ultimately, Denver got a second big win in a row, 110-98.
The Nuggets have improved to 28-33 on the season and are two and a half games above the Kings and three games ahead of Portland. The Bucks fall to 26-33 on their season.
