Cleveland came to the Mile High City well rested and ready to get a W, instead, the Joker and company overthrew the King and his court in front of a 19,719 person crowd–a sold out Pepsi Center.
Gary Harris led the Nuggets to their victory with his 21 points, 3 boards, and 4 assists. Will Barton came in tonight with a 20 point, 4 rebounds, 2 assist game. Wilson Chandler made his return tonight and contributed 18 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists.
Nikola Jokic had yet another double-double with 16 points, 10 boards, and 7 assists. Kenneth Faried brought the energy tonight as he contributed 17 points, 9 boards, and a dime off of the bench.
The Nuggets had 7 of their 10 players that set foot on the court in double scoring figures. Our starters combined for 70 points and our bench threw in 56 points with their high energy.
Even behind Kyrie Irving and his 33 points, 2 boards, and 3 assists, the Cavaliers weren’t able to get back into the game. Deron Williams threw in 19 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists off of the bench. LeBron James had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The Nuggets led the Cavaliers through the first, outscoring them 34-31, and then again in the second 39-29. At the half, the Nuggets had a 14 point, 73-59 lead but came back into the third looking sluggish as the Cavs went on a 15-4 run to kick off the third.
The Nuggets began to pick up their pace and responded to Cleveland by going on a 15-3 run of their own. The Nuggets finished the third quarter being outscored by the Cavs 31-28, where Cleveland came within just five points, but then Denver came back in the second outscoring the Cavs 25-23 for the big 126-113 win.
The Nuggets killed the paint and played team basketball. Denver even played defense tonight. There was a lot of cutting, a lot of nice dimes, and a lot of nice buckets to get the Nuggets their huge home win.
The Nuggets had 70 (yes, you read that right) points in the paint versus the 30 paint points that Cleveland had. The Nuggets also had 35 assists over Cleveland’s 22–talk about teamwork. Denver also only had 6 turnovers, which helped them to get their huge home win over the defending National champs!

With a Denver win and Portland loss last night, the Nuggets put a cushion on their eighth seed hold and are a game and a half ahead of the Trail Blazers.
