Tonight the Denver Nuggets took on the Boston Celtics in their second Summer League matchup. Both teams were 1-0 but the Nuggets were able to control the pace of the game and eventually pull away in the fourth quarter winning with 82-69 improving their record to 2-0. The starting lineup for tonight was Monte Morris, Malik Beasley, Vlatko Cancar, Kennedy Meeks and Kenrich Williams. Tyler Lydon and Thomas Welsh both sat out to rest.
Malik Beasley had a much better night tonight than friday night’s performance finishing with 19 points, 1 assist and 3 rebounds along with 3 steals. He was quick and consistent tonight, something that hindered his performance last season, going 6-13 from the field, 2-6 from the three, and 5-6 from the free throw line.
Monte Morris also had a great night trying to showcase his abilities in order to make that backup point guard spot on the official roster. He was able to put up 14 points tonight along with 6 assists and 3 rebounds. Together Morris and Beasley combined for a total of 33 points.
