The Denver Nuggets played against the reigning NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, tonight with hopes of staying undefeated and improving to a 3-0 start to this season. Starter Will Barton was listed out with a groin strain for tonight’s game so Torrey Craig started in his place. As usual there were plenty of Warriors fans in the audience, but the Nuggets made this game for the fans.
The first quarter started rough for both teams offensively, but the Warriors managed to end the quarter with the lead 25-17. Thankfully the Nuggets were able cut back on their lead going into halftime behind just 49-47. By the third quarter the Nuggets really began to heat up outscoring the Warriors 33-21 and going into the fourth with a lead of 70-80. Finally the Nuggets were able to close out the game with a narrow victory keeping the Warriors under 100 points with the final score of 98-100. The game almost went into overtime with a few seconds left until Juancho Hernangomez delivered the game winning block.
